GacoRoofFoam & GacoFlex S20 Silicone Over Metal Roof Restoration – Master Pitching Machine (MO)

Situation:

Master Pitching Machine of Kansas City, MO, designs and produces commercial pitching machines and batting cage equipment. They pride themselves on hard work and dedication to their customers, and their goal is to provide the finest quality products at the best prices. This means minimizing their overhead is important, and Master Pitching Machine was faced with a large metal warehouse roof that was not only aging but also allowing substantial energy loss in both the summer and winter months.

Solution:

Jim Giovagnoli of Master Pitching Machine contacted Washington Roofing & Insulation to help him solve their roof problem. With over 35 years of experience operating extensively in the Midwest, Washington Roofing & Insulation was very familiar with Gaco Western’s products and recommended installing the GacoFlex S20 Roof Coating System over a layer of GacoRoofFoam as the perfect fit for this project. After careful consideration, Mr. Giovagnoli decided to move forward with this solution.

Unique Characteristics:

The complete GacoRoofFoam and GacoFlex S20 Silicone Coating System provides high R-value insulation and forms a monolithic coating that fully adheres to the substrate to provide a seamless weather-tight seal that will endure permanent ponding water without softening.

Installation:

The roof was prepped by power washing the roof surface. GacoFlex E5320 2-Part Epoxy Primer was then applied to the entire roof area. To add insulation and help reduce energy bills Washington Roofing & Insulation applied 1.5 inches of GacoRoofFoam and coated the foam with GacoFlex S2000 Solvent-Free 100% Silicone Coating. Mr. Giovagnoli immediately received feedback from the employees working in the warehouse that the temperature change was very noticeable. They said that on this very hot August day they could tell a difference. Mr. Giovagnoli was so pleased with the results he had Washington Roofing & Insulation apply the same GacoFlex S20 Silicone Roof Coating System on the metal roofs of the company’s two storage buildings to ensure they remain leak free.
