HIGH-PERFORMANCE NON-SKID COATINGS
Virtual Event
Virtual / Zoom Event
Course Overview:
This course reviews high-performance coating strategies engineered for pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Explore heavy-traffic chemistries, resin technologies, and proper surface preparation and moisture testing methods. By integrating dynamic coefficient of friction (DCOF) and ADA life-safety standards, you will gain the practical skills needed to specify resilient systems that withstand vehicular abrasion and enhance safety.
Course Code:
ACSGFLOOR
Credit:
AIA approved course. Qualifies for 1 LU|HSW
Learning Objectives:
- Analyze Resin Chemistries: Evaluate the performance differences between single-component acrylics and two-component, Kevlar®-reinforced epoxies for various traffic loads.
- Define Life-Safety Standards: Apply Dynamic Coefficient of Friction (DCOF) and ADA requirements to the selection of anti-slip textures to minimize pedestrian liability in wet and dry conditions.
- Specify for Vehicular Loads: Identify the mechanical properties required—such as abrasion and impact resistance—to withstand heavy-rolling loads and shear forces in industrial and parking environments.
- Determine Surface Preparation Protocols: Assess Concrete Surface Profile (CSP) standards and moisture-vapor transmission testing to ensure permanent adhesion of high-solids coating systems.
Facilitator Qualifications:
