April 5, 2016 – Gaco Western’s GacoOnePass (F1850) – the first 2 lb. density Closed Cell foam in the industry which can be sprayed in 4” passes and pass Appendix X without a coating – has been awarded UL Environment’s GREENGUARD and GREENGUARD Gold Certifications.
Interior products can have a significant impact on indoor air quality, and can emit hundreds of chemicals into the air that building occupants breathe. Use of GREENGUARD Certified products contributes to the creation of healthier interiors. GREENGUARD Gold Certification (formerly known as GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification) includes exceptionally low emissions limits to account for sensitive individuals including children and the elderly. This certification makes GacoOnePass eligible for use on Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) projects and for points under the LEED® green building certification program.
GacoOnePass can reduce labor costs by 50% or more and contribute to 20-30% higher yields than standard 2 lb. foams when sprayed in one pass at 3-4” thickness. It is Appendix X approved for use without an additional ignition barrier and meets the requirement for a Class II vapor retarder at just 0.44”.
“Contractors across the country are reporting higher profits using GacoOnePass thanks to substantial labor savings and improved yields,” stated Tom Sojak, Vice President Sales, GacoWallFoam. “We also brought the additional benefit of passing Appendix X without a coating, which meant contractors would save even more time and money. Now we can offer the safety and security that comes with GREENGUARD certification. This product just keeps getting better and better!”
GREENGUARD Certification is issued by UL Environment, a business division of UL (Underwriters Laboratories). GREENGUARD Certification helps manufacturers create – and helps buyers identify – interior products and materials that have low chemical emissions. GREENGUARD Certification became part of the UL Environment portfolio in 2011 when UL Environment acquired the Greenguard Environmental Institute, further advancing its mission of promoting global sustainability, environmental health, and safety.
